Old Business:

Membership: Barb had designed a tri-fold brochure, which is in a PDF format.  There are three categories of membership on the application.  Barb had eliminated the category boxes after our last discussion about the form, but she would like to put them back.  She wants to have a category for donating money for those who can't volunteer their time. It was suggested that the categories should say member, rather than staff.  It was also suggested that we have the categories of Active member and Donor member.

Fundraising: Corinna suggested a monthly raffle at one of the businesses downtown.  A product or gift basket would have to be donated and people could buy raffle tickets at some of the businesses.

Julie suggested a yard sale in late April or May. We may be able to use Greg's parents' house near Oakdale Rd.  They have a garage where items could be stored and a driveway for the sale.

Bylaws Revisions: Barb distributed copies of the revised bylaws and presented some of the changes. Barb and a committee have been working on the revisions over the past few months. Within the next 3 weeks, you can contact Barb with any questions or suggestions at 766-9928 or 621-9894 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  We will vote on adopting the revised bylaws at the March meeting.

Marketing: Orin is contacting the Press and Sun-Bulletin to ask how to get the dates of our meetings published in the newpaper.

JCRP: Marcia and Julie reported on the progress of some of the projects in the program.  247 Main  St is renovating a 3rd floor apartment, which is almost completed.  237 Main and 257 Main St are close to starting.  256 Main St. ( Giblins) needs some final paperwork to sign a contract with the village and then can start.  The Design Review Committee has been involved in design of the "Welcome to historic Johnson City" sign.

Carousel Day:   Julie reported thatVisions Credit Union increased their sponsorship to $500 this year. Bates Troy will be $250.  Julie submitted an online application to Wegman's as there is no longer local involvement in donations.  The information about the art contest for the Poster has been submitted to the newspaper and to local Art Councils. Julie distributed the flyer to members at the meeting.  The musicians for Carousel Day have been selected and secured for the day.  Barb had recommended that Julie submit a budget for Carousel Day. Julie distributed the budget at this meeting.  Nick made a motion to accept the Carousel Day budget, seconded by Jim. 7 votes in favor, one abstension (Julie).

Music Event: Corinna reported on progress of the third Thursday Cruise-in music events planned for May-Sept. Equinox Broadcasting met with Corinna and they want to charge us for advertising the events.  We have no funds to pay for advertising. Corinna will try to convince local businesses to be sponsors at various levels of support.  We can hire the bands when we know how much funding we will have.  UHS has offered a $250 donation so far.

New Business:

Julie has been starting to work on the forms required for JC Partners to  apply for 501c3 status. She would like to have it completed by the end of March.  It requires a one-time fee of $850 to file the Federal forms. Our income exceeded  $5000 in the past year and we need to start filing income tax. This designation will give us more opportunities for donations and grants.  Julie said that some members have offered  private funds as a loan for the filing fee.

Julie reported that Dottie Pobocek sent a letter resigning from Johnson City Partners.

The next Johnson City Partners meeting is March 13, 2013 at 7PM.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 PM.
