Meeting called to order at 7:03PM by Julie

We held a cleanup of the parking lots at 6PM tonight in preparation for the first Cruze-Inz tomorrow.

Julie read the minutes of the  April 9th meeting. Corinna made a motion to accept, Jim seconded. Unanimous approval with a few typos to correct.

 

Marcia gave the treasurer’s report.  Savings has $2403.63 and Checking has $2250.65

Julie paid $84.13, quarterly payment for liability insurance.

Corinna made a motion to accept the report, seconded by Jim. Unanimous approval.

 

Membership: Barb discussed volunteers for Cruze-Inz and some potential volunteers for Carousel Day that she enlisted from the volunteer event at the Oakdale Mall last month.

Cruze-Inz: Save-a-lot gave Julie some bottles of water and bags which we will give to the classic car participants.  There will be prizes in some of the bags. Fat Boy’s Pizza will donate a pizza for the staff and band. We will sell raffle tickets for 3 baskets plus the afghan basket we had at the Library Book Sale. We decided the proceeds from the raffle baskets at Cruze-Inz will go into that budget and not the general fund.  Yum Yum will be there selling hot dogs, sandwiches, drinks and ice cream.

Sponsors for Cruze-Inz are UHS, Health Beat, Fat Cat Comics, Vitali Auto, Marusich and Conti Dentists and Rock Factory Radio.

Carousel Day: Julie sent invoices to Wegman’s, JF Rice and Haylor, Freyer and Coon for their donations, as we have not received their checks.  We have rack cards we can start distributing. Julie will have a Press Conference in June for Carousel Day. Julie went to the Athens Art Fest and talked to vendors there to try to get more vendors.  We have permission to use the Gannett parking lot.  We will get more recycling frames this year to have one next to each garbage can. An EMT who works with UVES will bring an ambulance. Julie asked JCPD for 2 crossing guards, who we will pay.

We discussed applications from 3 art vendors that Julie wanted our feedback on.

Main Street Grant Program: Julie and Marcia said the sign for Veterans Park has been finalized. It will say Historic Downtown Johnson City, Health and Cultural District. Working on a gate for the alley next to Reveille Restaurant. Researching large planters of ceramic or fiberglass for a few locations in the target area.  We will not be putting out the square planters this year. Tom Johnson sent official letters from the village to 5 project building owners telling them that the deadline to complete the work and submit paperwork is July 8, 2014.  Baxters have been reimbursed for the work and Phase I for 237 Main and 247 Main has been reimbursed.

The next Johnson City Partners meeting is June 11, 2014at 7PM at Village Hall.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM.
