July 9, 2014 Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 7:03PM by Julie

The minutes from the June meeting were not available. They will be distributed at the August meeting.

Marcia gave the treasurer’s report.  Savings has $2403.63 and Checking has $4668.58

Much of the money in the checking account will be used for expenses for Carousel Day and entertainment for the remaining Cruze-Inz.

Barb made a motion to accept and Corinna seconded. Unanimous approval

 

Carousel Day: Barb is working on calling volunteers for Carousel Day. Julie and Donna sent out over 20 letters requesting donations for the raffle baskets.  Julie asked Corinna and Marcia to send request letters to 4 other businesses. All sponsors have paid, we have 10 paid art vendors, 4 business vendors and 6 food vendors. The Trackless Train is coming-he will charge $3 per ride and donate 10% of the profit to JC Partners. Julie is trying to get someone from Norfolk and Southern to provide railroad education.  Ron Harting, the Windsor Mayor, is working on a project to renovate the Railroad station in Windsor.  He will have a table in the history tent to sell items to raise funds. The Goodwill Theatre will also have a display in the History Tent.

The printed program will be one sheet, folded, with an insert for vendor names. Rock Factory Radio will have a free table.  We are hiring crossing guards for the Main Entrance and the Wal-Mart intersection.

 On Friday, July 25, the tents will be set up at 6PM and we will clean up the park and set up the tents being used by JC Partners.

 

501c3 application: Julie has not heard anything back yet. She completed the 2013- 990N form, required to report the total amount of money we receive annually.

 

Main Street Grant Program: Julie has most of the paperwork for the last two projects. Sept 9, 2014 is the final date for the village to submit all paperwork for the Main Street Grant Program. This Saturday Julie and a co-worker who volunteered to help, are organizing all of the files for the Grant program

The next Johnson City Partners meeting is August 13, 2014 at 7PM at Village Hall.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 9 PM.
