May 11, 2016 Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 7:01 PM by Donna

Julie presented Regina Taylor with the “2015 Carousel Day Volunteer of the Year” award certificate.

The minutes from the March 9, 2016 meeting were discussed. A few corrections were made. Julie
made a motion to accept the minutes with the corrections, seconded by Carol. Unanimous approval.


Treasurer’s Report: Checking account: $ 2125.88

Park savings account: $5218.34
Revitalization savings: $188.73


Julie provided additional info on the checking account. The Cruze-Inz fund is $1316.63, which includes $50 from Hollywood Barber. The General fund has $793.44, which is prior to the insurance payment.
Corinna made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Barb. Unanimous approval.

Membership: Barb talked with Don McPartland and he still wants to be involved and help at our events. Barb and Carol will start calling volunteers soon for the May 26 Cruze-In. Corinna and Carol started our Facebook page. Photos can be sent to Corinna for posting on the site.

Cruze-Inz: Corinna has sent promotional info to the Community Calendar at the Press and SunBulletin, the Summer Planner at the newspaper, Bing Pop and several Facebook sites.
Donna reported that the Bookmobile will be at the May 26 Cruze-In from 5-7:30, for tours of the bus. Staff from JC Schools will be there distributing free books.
The Chow bus has committed to the May Cruze-In. Rossi’s has given us gift certificates for our raffles.
Red’s Kettle Inn will donate some round pizzas for the volunteers. Rich Wilson sent us a contract and is now a definite for September. We will sell raffle tickets for the basket which includes the signed book by Jacqui Boulter. We will pick a winner on May 26th for the basket.


Carousel Day: Corinna and Julie composed a letter to the editor at the newspaper about Carousel Day not being held this year. Donna will sign the letter and it will be submitted.

Old Business: Julie distributed a schedule for downtown clean-up for the rest of the year. We will have an all hands clean-up on May 23 rd, meeting at the Save a Lot parking lot at 6PM.

CFJ Park Beautification Project:
Julie wants to put together a plan that includes more trees, shrubs, benches and maybe an arch at the entrance. She and Barb will then meet with Bob Bennett and hope to get something planted in the fall.


New Business: We discussed our procedure for contracts, such as arrangements with the bands for Cruze-Inz. Based on past practice, we will have the President sign contracts. If the President is not available, the Vice President can sign.
We discussed a new location for our meetings. The JC Senior Citizens Center is available the 3 rd or 4th Wednesday of each month. The 3 rd Wednesday is okay for everyone at the meeting today. Corinna will check if it is okay for us to stay until 9PM.
Julie informed us of a Public Hearing on Monday May 16th at 5:30PM at Village Hall. The meeting was called by The Agency for public comment on a PILOT for the Century-Sunrise Development. This is a housing and retail project to be located in two Endicott-Johnson factories between Baldwin and
Willow Streets.

If we can meet at the JC Senior Citizens Center, the next meeting is Wed. June 15 at 7PM.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:25PM.

Meetings are typically held once a month at 7 pm on the second Wednesday of the month.
