Meeting called to order at 7:12pm by Corinna
Discussion – Corinna – It was decided that the people on the Main Street Meeting Group are not JCP members. They are volunteers.
Clarification of meeting rules – JCP members should be notified of all meetings and meetings are open to all JCP members. There was a mix-up that JCP members were not made aware of a Main Street meeting. JCP President shall be notified of all meetings, and the JCP President shall send notification to the JCP members.
The minutes from the March meeting were reviewed. Corrections were noted and minutes were accepted. Carol will update minutes and send to JCP President.
Checking account: $2363.84
Park savings account: $2659.31
Revitalization savings: $109.77
Discussion on money used for Cruze-In sign stand. Julie has left over screws from the Wegmans area sign for JCP use.
Carousel Day: JCP will have a free table for Carousel Day.
Action– Carol will email Rocky Martinez (Rotary Club) about stored signs and ask they would like the signs.
Action- Carol will email Julie with what JCP has in storage.
Action: Carol will take train signs to next JCP meeting.
Cruze-In 2017: Corinna- discussion on barricades and cones. How many are needed, etc.
Action– Corinna will send email to the Dept. of Public Works that no handicap signs are needed.
We have enough pizza certificates for raffles, water, and pizza for volunteers for all 2017 Cruze-Ins.
Priorto the Rotary Club taking over Carousel Day, Corinna received a $25 Wegmans gift certificate; this certificate will now be used for Cruze-In raffle or water for the Cruze-In, if needed.
May Cruze-In discussion: Yum-Yum, CHOW, Book Mobile will be there. Corinna requested to let her know if there will be any other vendors. VFW may be there with Poppies.
Julie has safety vests. Rob will pick-up pizza and ice. Marcia will go directly to the Cruze-In. Rob informed us that Johnson City 125th Anniversary t-shirts will be available for sale at the May Cruze-In for us to wear and sell. Corinna will contact the VFW to enquire if they will be attending all Cruze-Ins to have a table for Poppies.
Main Street Promotion Plan- Rob is working on restaurant week and street banners.
Action– Carol will research yellow lilies or more hardy plants for Main Street flower boxes.
CFJ Park Beautification Project: Julie presented W&W Nursery tree update. Tree locations have been marked, May 5, by Julie and Greg.
Action – Julie will contact Dai concerning a bike rack.
Discussion – We decided new swing seats are needed. Julie is checking on less expensive seats.
Also, discussed was Girl Scouts working on park garden to earn badges.
May 20 Main Street Clean Up: Rob suggested that we not only “like” but also “Share and Invite” events JCP posts on face book.
