Meeting called to order at 7:06 by Julie.
The minutes of the June 13, 2018 meeting were reviewed. Motion by Tammy to accept with changes, seconded by Marcia. Unanimous approval.
Treasurer's report: Checking account: $1764.15
Park Savings acct: 793.68
Revit. Savings acct: 159.76
We received a check from the Roaming Railroad from Carousel Day. Marcia made a motion that the proceeds will go into the general fund, Corinna seconded, the motion was approved.
Jeff Davis will be a food vendor at Johnson City Field Days and will give a percentage of his profits to JC Partners.
Membership: Barb is resigning as Chair of the Membership Committee. She gave a review of how JC Partners got started. Carol will put all of the old member information on a spreadsheet.
Carousel Day was a success this year. Rotary said they will plan to improve their time line for advertising next year. The Partners will look for advertising 2 months before Carousel Day, and decide if there will be an adequate turnout to invite the Roaming Railroad. Julie plans to meet with Rotary.
Carol reported that there have been 35 responses to the JCP survey so far.
National Night Out on August 9th at the Schorr Family Firehouse Theater from 5:30-7:30. We will have a bean bag game and give away candy and toys to kids that participate.
We discussed Barb's suggestion for a guest speaker series. Could be held on the third Thursday of the months, October – April. Ideas for speakers include revitalization of the JC downtown area and events in the county. We can invite people who could speak to business owners and previous JCP members. Suggestions for speakers include The Agency, Village & County employees and Smart Growth advocates. The location could be the JC Municipal Building in the training room or Sarah Jane Johnson Methodist Church.
August Cruze-In: the Kettle Korn vendor will not be there. We will ask if the Legion can serve more than hot dogs.
New Business: Friendlys has a voucher system for fundraising, 20% of the sales for a day will go to a non-profit organization. Bundy Radio Station at the Bundy Museum will advertise community ads free.
Some of the tree boxes on Main Street have been weeded by BOCES students and then planted with donated flowers.
