The tentative Pagoda re-dedication press conference has been set for Sept 19th at 1PM. When the Pagoda T-shirts are available, we will give one to Donna Lupardo, NYS Assemblywoman, for her help with the NYS funds for the Pagoda renovation. Mayor Deemie approved JCP providing a cake and water at the press conference. We approved spending up to $56 for a cake and water bottles for the event. Donna is working with the customink.com website to provide the Pagoda T-shirt design and
have the T-shirts ready for ordering directly from the website. “Adopt a Tree Box Program”: Julie has a liability release for adopters to sign, with information about
what they can and cannot plant. Corinna has been working on getting the boxes adopted by businesses and other volunteers. All of the boxes, except 6 have been adopted, to date.
United Way Day of Caring is Friday Sept. 13 from 1-4 PM. A group of employees from UHS will be volunteering to plant mums in the tree boxes in downtown Johnson City. Julie got donations of flowers, mulch and soil from Lowes, Home Depot and Farmer Browns.
Cruze-In: There was not a big turn-out for the Aug 15 Cruze-In, due to competition from other events in the area. We did not do a 50/50 raffle that night.
The Sept 19 Cruze-In will be held rain or shine. Rich Wilson will perform inside if it rains and we will have raffle items for the veterans. Corinna reminded us that she could still use more donations for the veterans raffles.
Donna asked if we are considering sponsoring/organizing the Window Wonderland downtown window
painting event again this year. Corinna will ask John Vallone at “My Town” if they are interested in working with JCP on this event.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:45PM
