Treasurer's Report-No treasurer's report tonight. The bounced check has not yet been paid by the participant of Carousel Day. Julie will follow up.
No word yet on the Main Street Revitalization Grant. Decisions are delayed until December. Julie and Marcia sent out letters explaining the delay to the 13 individuals eligible for this grant.
Corinna gave an update on the World Changers organization. She has maintained a list for Johnson City residents that will be used when this organization comes to our area in the spring. Homeowners need to provide the materials; but all of the labor is provided free of charge. Julie would like to have between 12 and 14 projects for Johnson City.
Downtown Johnson City is now being recognized as a Historical District both nationally and within New York State.
Julie received some donated paint in a historical color that will be used to paint the front of the old Fat Cat building on Main Street. We recently placed a hand-painted mural in this building made by art students in our Johnson City schools. The goal is to try to paint the building this Saturday.
Julie wanted to recognize Jim Furman, Bob Olcott, Roz Taylor and Greg Deemie for their volunteer work at the Windsor event.
Recognized Corinna Johnson and Dottie Pobocek for their flood relief work with the Presbyterian Church.
Julie put together an event in which the Johnson City Partners will be lead agency. A home goods giveaway, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 12 from 10-4. Sites are still being considered. Items such as small appliances, dishware, bedding, etc. will be accepted; but items must be clean and in work order. We will possibly be asking for FEMA numbers from individuals who require assistance.
