Among the top 500 companies in terms of sales last year, there are 43 construction and construction material companies, a decrease by 3 companies from the previous year. With sales growth, 5 companies including Woomi Construction and Jungheung Construction joined the top 500 companies newly and 8 companies Aju and Dongwoo were delisted due to decrease in earnings and conversion to a holding company.
According to the ‘2019 Top 500 Companies (based on sales in 2018)’ published by CEO Score, a corporate business performance evaluation site on May 15, there are 43 construction and construction material companies included in the list. The sales of the 500th company was KRW 924.6 billion.
First, Samsung C&T ranked highest in the construction and construction material business. Samsung C&T (sales of KRW 31.5564 trillion) ranked 15th out of top 500 companies, one notch down from last year (14th). Hyundai E&C (sales of KRW 16.7309 won) ranked second in construction business and 39th out of top 500 companies (36th, previous year). GS E&C ranked third in the construction industry (sales of KRW 13.1394 trillion).
DL E&C (56th), Daewoo E&C (58th), SK ecoplant (82nd) and POSCO E&C (88th) were included in the top 100 companies but their rank decreased from the previous year.
Lotte Engineering & Construction (102nd), Taeyoung (144th), Hanwha E&C (147th), Kolon Global (164th), LG Hausys (167th) and HDC (191st) were included in the top 200 companies.
Jungheung Construction (204th), Kyeryong Construction Industrial (230th), Hanshin Engineering (243rd), IS DONGSEO (285th) were listed in the top 300 companies and Hoban Construction (304th), Bando Construction (311st), Doosan E&C (314th), Ssangyong E&C(321st), Etec E&C (326th), Booyoung Housing (329th), Eugene Crop. (332nd), MDM Group (334th), Kumho E&C (345th), Halla (358th), Unicity (369th), DS Networks (385th) and Ssangyong E&C (394th) were listed as top 400 companies.
